
Sharon Fain, CEcD, Principal
As Principal of EnergyComm Consulting and a Certified Economic Developer, Sharon Fain leads as executive project manager, developing comprehensive strategies for clients that integrate messaging, strategic planning, and stakeholder and community engagement. She collaborates with leaders at the local, regional, state, and national levels, focusing on issues that are vital to the economic health of communities. Sharon and her team are committed to raising awareness of key issues and providing objective, insightful guidance to ensure the success of every project. She brings a wealth of experience managing high profile projects of varying scope and scale, delivering results on time and within budget.
Previously, Sharon served as Vice President for Wyoming at Rocky Mountain Power, a division of PacifiCorp and Berkshire Hathaway Energy. In this role, she was a driving force behind the utility’s Wyoming coal plant community economic resiliency and transformation initiatives. She also played a key role in external communications and community outreach for PacifiCorp’s Energy Vision 2020, which focused on expanding wind energy and transmission infrastructure across Wyoming. She played a pivotal role in gaining stakeholder and community support for TerraPower’s advanced nuclear reactor pilot project in Kemmerer, Wyoming.
Sharon was also selected for a two-year term with the National Association of Counties’ Building Resilient Economies in Coal Communities coalition, highlighting her dedication to economic development in energy-dependent regions.
With a background as an energy, economic, and business development strategist, Sharon is widely respected in her field. Her career also includes roles as President of Energy Share Wyoming and Vice President of the Wyoming Association of Natural Gas Utilities.
In recognition of her professional achievements and community service, Sharon has received numerous awards, including being named one of Wyoming’s Women of Influence by the Wyoming Business Report. She holds an Economic Development Certification from the Harvard Kennedy School, the Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) designation from the International Economic Development Council, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Georgia State University.
